I am Ram Srivatsan. I am 28 years of age and live in Chennai. I am a keen student of Carnatic music, right from my childhood.

My connection with music
From my early days, I have been attracted to Music.  Surprisingly, music came to me naturally.  The first person who sang for me was naturally my mother, and perhaps seeing that I was responding happily to her lullabies and songs, she started teaching me small songs and slokas.  Therefore, my mother was indeed my first teacher. My connection with music has already begun!

My mother was trained in Veena and had good understanding of Carnatic Music.  She was also a pious lady.  Perhaps her influence on me in my early childhood has also made me pious and created the ability to quickly grasp the nuances of Carnatic Music.
